How to make CHEMEX coffee
This is a pour over method of coffee brewing, similar to a V60, producing a clean and bright cup of coffee. A single origin coffee works great in the Chemex. It will highlight the subtle flavours of a particular coffee and will produce a lovely crisp flavoured brew.
You're going to need:
Chemex & Chemex filter papers
Scales and a timer
Boiling water
Our House Blend coffee
Boil the kettle and saturate the filter paper with some of the water to remove any papery taste.
Discard this water and tare the scales. Weigh in 30 grams of fresh ground coffee.
Zero the scales again and pour in 75 grams of water (equivalent to 500 ml), leave for 30 seconds.
Pour in the remaining 425 grams of water in stages to reach 500 grams.
When the coffee bed is dry remove the filter and discard.
Enjoy!
